What A Screen Is
A screen is a signal whose conditions must ALL hold. Set a signal's Combine to All and every on/off indicator in it becomes a condition: the signal fires on a market only when every condition is true. Light it on a desk and switch the board to the Screen face to see the result as a list instead of a heatmap.
Build One
- Add a signal, set Combine to All, and add one on/off indicator per condition, each named for what it means — "Overextended down", "Bullish RSI divergence".
- Or ask the AI chat: "screen for markets overextended to the downside with a bullish RSI divergence". It composes the conditions from formulas and lights the screen on your desk.
- On the Screen, + Condition opens the lit screen's editor to add another condition; clicking a condition chip edits it.
- Conditions are ordinary formulas, so anything the formula language can say is a condition: (close - sma(close, 20)) / atr(14) <= -2 is "more than two ATRs below the 20-candle average". Divergences, swing structure, crossovers and "happened recently" are built from the event functions in the Formula Reference — nothing is a fixed menu.
- A condition is on when it is true. To screen for the opposite case, write the opposite condition — fundingBps >= 0 rather than fundingBps < 0 — and the AI chat and your own connected AI are held to the same rule: a condition they set up so it can never pass, always passes, or reads backwards is sent back to them to fix before anything is saved.
- A signal made only of conditions marked Required reads the same way whatever its Combine: it lights where every one of them is true, on the board and in Proof. Add a graded indicator or an optional condition beside them and the Required ones go back to gating it — the signal then lights by its score, and only where they hold.
Reading The Screen
- Matching now: every market meeting the screen on the last closed candle, freshest first.
- Left the screen: markets that matched recently and no longer do, most recent first, dimmed.
- Matches: a strip of the last 48 candles, lit where the market matched — the same result the heatmap paints for that row.
- Stage colours: when two or more screens are lit on a desk, each lit candle in the strip takes the colour of the screen that held on it, and each screen's name in the header carries its colour as a dot. A desk built as stages — coil, then break, then run — reads as the path each market is on. If two screens hold on the same candle, the stronger one colours it, and on a tie the one listed later. Desks that blend scored signals keep the one colour, because the lead changes almost every candle.
- In for / Since: how long the current match has held (or how long ago it left), and the price move since that run of matches began.
- Condition columns show each condition's number when it is a single comparison, in cyan when it holds.
- Rows keep their place and move only when a candle closes. Click a column header to sort by it (down, up, then back); click a row to put that market on the chart.
Your Columns
- Every column is a signal. The + at the end of the header opens Add a column: describe what you want to read and vyx builds it, or pick one of your own signals, a template, or any of the indicator studies (RSI, funding, CVD, open interest, ATR and the rest) — tabs narrow the list to Your signals, Templates or Indicators, and the search works inside the tab. You can still type a formula, like lowest(rsi(close, 14), 20); it is saved as a signal.
- A column prints the signal's value — RSI reads 62 — when it has one number to print, and its score (−100…+100, the same score the board uses) when it has several parts. Switch between the two in the column's menu. Delete the signal and its column stays until you remove it: a value keeps printing, a score reads —.
- The arrow beside a column's name opens its menu. It carries the same switches the signal has on your desk's signal list: Line draws it in a panel under the chart, Strip adds it as a row under the chart, Score puts it into the board's ranking, and Zone and Marker draw its levels and fires. A column on its own never changes how the board ranks markets. A small line icon in the header marks a column that is drawn under the chart.
- Or ask vyx in the chat — "add an RSI column", "show absorption as a column" — and it adds the column the same way, without changing what the board ranks. Your own connected AI can do the same.
- Columns belong to the desk and follow you across devices. Up to 12 per desk, on any of your desks, starter desks included. Drag a column's header left or right to put it where you want it, or use Move left and Move right in its menu (Move up and Move down in the Columns sheet on a phone); remove one from its menu.
History
Switch the Screen to History for a 14-day log of every market that entered and left it — when, at what price, how long it held and how price moved over the run (to now while it still matches). The log is recorded on our servers every minute, tab open or not, for any desk with Alerts on or with Start recording pressed. A market that was already matching when recording began is marked as such rather than given a made-up entry time. The move is price, not a trade result.
Alerts
Turn on Alerts in the Screen's header to get an email and push notification when a market enters the screen. Alerts and History run on our servers, so they work with the tab closed; they work on every plan, free included, and need a desk of your own. Keep each formula's lookback within 200 candles — nested windows add up — so the server scores it exactly as your desk does.
On A Phone
The Screen is a tab on the phone too: matches first, recent exits dimmed, each row with its match strip, time in and move since. Scroll and the row under the focus marker drives the chart above. A market on your chart that the Screen doesn’t list — opened from a link, say — rides on top as its own row marked not on Screen, so the marker sits on it and swiping back up returns to it; it joins the list once it matches. The Columns button in its header lists your columns with their numbers for the market under the marker; tap one for its menu (draw it under the chart, switch value and score, remove it), or Add column for the same picker as the desktop. Its History switch shows the same 14-day log, one market per row — tap one to chart it.
